Eden Valley clouds

Greenest Spring

Spring in the North Pennines this year seems to be very much greener than usual. Perhaps it just seems that way because we’ve waited a long time for it. In the garden plants seem to be very keen on growing and there hasn’t been the usual reluctance in the vegetable garden in particular. The beans are looking promising. Driving through the nearby lanes of Eden valley at the weekend the very many shades of green were quite breathtaking. Surrounded by the beautiful but wilder moors it is easy to forget how very pastoral this part of Cumbria is. Once you start really looking at it you find that you are tempted to capture the landscape one way or another. A cyclist watching me photographing this cloud formation apologised for photo-bombing me but we were both smiling and appreciating the quiet beauty of Eden.
